Synopsis DE
Die Profikillerin Ava (Jessica Chastain) schaltet im Auftrag einer Geheimorganisation überall auf der Welt hochrangige Zielpersonen aus. Ihre Karriere nimmt eine schlechte Wendung, als eine ihrer Missionen aufgrund falscher Informationen schiefläuft. Nach dem verpfuschten Auftrag (und weil sie oftmals zu viele Fragen über ihre Zielpersonen stellt) soll Ava eine Pause einlegen, bis Gras über die Sache gewachsen ist. Insgeheim hat ihr Auftraggeber Simon aber bereits Killer auf sie angesetzt, um Rückschlüsse auf die Organisation zu verunmöglichen.Nach dem Tod ihres Vaters entscheidet Ava, in ihre Heimatstadt Boston zurückzukehren und die Beziehung mit ihrer Mutter und ihrer Schwester Judy zu kitten. Die Heimkehr ist jedoch alles andere als freudig, da die Jahre der Entfremdung die Fronten verhärtet haben. Kompliziert wird es, als Ava erfährt, dass ihr Ex-Verlobter Michael jetzt mit Judy zusammen ist und in einen illegalen Glücksspielring involviert ist, den sie noch zu gut von früher kennt. Ava muss jetzt ihre Familie und sich selbst vor mehreren Bedrohungen retten, während sie mit ihren eigenen Dämonen ringt.
