Synopsis DE

Im Sommer 1973 wird der 16-jährige John Paul Getty III. (Charlie Plummer), Enkel des milliardenschweren Öl-Magnaten John P. Getty (Christopher Plummer), in Rom entführt. Die Kidnapper sind Mitglieder der Mafia und verlangen 17 Millionen Dollar Lösegeld. Doch der reichste Mann der Welt sperrt sich: Er wittert hinter der Entführung eine Inszenierung, ausserdem fürchtet er Nachahmer. Schliesslich hat Getty insgesamt 14 Enkel! Als die Entführer ein abgeschnittenes Ohr schicken und ankündigen, John Paul „stückweise“ freizulassen, falls nicht bald gezahlt werde, beginnt ein Wettrennen gegen die Zeit. John Pauls Mutter Gail (Michelle Williams) engagiert einen ehemaligen CIA-Vermittler (Mark Wahlberg), um ihren Sohn zu befreien – zur Not auch ohne die Hilfe des Schwiegervaters...

Pour le milliardaire, l'enlèvement de son petit-fils préféré n'est pas une raison suffisante pour qu’il se sépare d’une partie de sa fortune.
Gail, (Michelle Williams), la mère de Paul, femme forte et dévouée, va tout faire pour obtenir la libération de son fils. Elle s’allie à Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg), le mystérieux chef de la sécurité du milliardaire et tous deux se lancent dans une course contre la montre face à des ravisseurs déterminés, instables et brutaux.
Inspiré de faits réels, le nouveau thriller de Ridley Scott nous plonge dans une traque haletante qui oppose les valeurs de l’argent aux liens du sang.

Alcuni uomini mascherati rapiscono un ragazzo adolescente di nome Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer), nipote del magnate del petrolio Jean Paul Getty (Kevin Spacey), noto per essere l’uomo più ricco al mondo e al tempo stesso il più avido. Il rapimento del nipote preferito, infatti, non è per lui ragione sufficientemente valida per rinunciare a parte delle sue fortune, tanto da costringere la madre del ragazzo Gail (Michelle Williams) e l’uomo della sicurezza Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg) a una sfrenata corsa contro il tempo per raccogliere i soldi, pagare il riscatto e riabbracciare finalmente il giovane Paul.
