Mit seinem aufwändigen Remake des Schwarzweiss-Filmklassikers "King Kong" aus dem Jahre 1933 erfüllt er sich einen Kindheitstraum. Nur schon dank Jacksons Effektschmiede "Weta Digital" und der Effektregie von Oscar-Preisträger Joe Letteri wird der Riesenaffe ein besonders eindrückliches Eigenleben entwickeln.Dazu kommt eine erstklassige Besetzung, angeführt durch Naomi Watts (Ring 1 & 2 ), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Thomas Kretschmann (Der Untergang) und Jack Black (School Of Rock).
